How to Hook Up My Apple G4 Laptop to an HDTV
Although your Apple PowerBook G4 laptop supports DVI connections, you’ll need a special adapter in order to connect your laptop to an HDTV. DVI Adapter High-definition televisions come with HDMI ports, and will require an adapter that converts your DVI connection to HDMI.
This special adapter can be purchased at the Apple Store, or you can purchase it from Apple.com. These cables will only support video conversion. To play audio you’ll also need audio cables, which connect from your laptop’s headphone jack to the television.
Plug the mini-DVI to DVI adapter into your Macbook’s mini-DVI port, and plug the other end of the adapter into the DVI to HDMI cable. Plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI ports on the back of your HDTV .USB 2.0 to DVI, HDMI and VGA Multi-Display Adapter(USB Graphic Adapter Display USB2.0 to VGA DVI HDMI 1080 )
Plug the audio cable into the headphones port on your G4, and plug the other end into the audio ports on the television.
Click “System Preferences” on your computer screen’s dock, and click the “Displays” icon. Click “Arrangement” and check the “Mirror displays” box.
